About me

I am an Assistant Professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering at Tecnologico de Monterrey. My main research area is the statistical design and analysis of experiments to develop and improve complex processes and products. I am the Program Chair-Elect (2027-2028) of the Quality and Productivity Section of the American Statistical Association, and a member of the Editorial board of Quality Engineering and Journal of Quality Technology. I am also part of the Sistema Nacional de Investigadoras e Investigadores, Level 1.

My academic experience includes:

• Council member of the Quality, Statistics, and Reliability section of INFORMS (2023 to 2026).

• Assistant Professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Arkansas (2022 to 2023).

• Assistant Adjunct Professor at the Department of Statistics at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) (2020 to 2022).

• Junior Postdoctoral Fellow of the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO) and KU Leuven, Belgium (2018 to 2020).

In May 2018, I obtained a Ph.D. in Applied Economics at the University of Antwerp, Belgium. The supervisors of my Ph.D. thesis were Prof. Peter Goos and Dr. Eric Schoen. I was born and raised in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
